About

I'm Mike Colahan, A concept-driven, smart-thinking, design-loving, highly-experienced creative leader specializing in developing and exploring ideas for my clients, weaving words and images into simple narratives which talk to the right people. In other words, creating work that works.

I’ve been very fortunate to make a living creating work that works for organizations large and small.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Kansas State University, I started my career with Kuhn & Wittenborn Advertising working with clients like American Century Investments, Crown Center, Kansas Speedway, and Worlds of Fun.

After cutting my teeth in the advertising agency world, I’ve spent the last nine years in-house building a corporate brand from national leader to a global contender. Beginning as an individual contributor, then managing designers and writers, and serving as a subject matter expert providing harmonious, interrelated advertising, brand, social, and video for clients around the globe.

I’ve directed and collaborated with contractors, event planners, illustrators and photographers, and led creative teams of writers and designers. I can work in a silo or on a team of passionate Creatives from creative brief to polished product. I love to explore all the options and welcome fresh ideas, while being conscious of your time and budget.

Trying to get work that’s a two or a three to be a three or a four is a total waste of time. A four may be better than a three, but it still sucks. You’re better off trying to get the nine work to a 10.
